Morpheus8 vs. Ultherapy for Loose Skin
Both build collagen without surgery, but they work differently. Here is how to choose based on your skin and goals.
Morpheus8 and Ultherapy are two of the most common nonsurgical options for skin laxity. Both build collagen over months rather than removing skin, and neither requires surgery. But they work differently, and the right choice depends on the degree of laxity and what else you want to address.
How Morpheus8 works
Morpheus8 is RF microneedling. Tiny needles deliver radiofrequency energy into the skin, which remodels collagen and improves texture. It targets laxity, texture, acne scars, jowls and the neck. A series of 3 sessions is typical, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Topical numbing is applied before each session.
How Ultherapy works
Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound to lift the skin on the face, neck and brow. It targets the deeper layers that support the skin. There is little to no downtime, with possible tenderness for a few days. It is often chosen for lifting rather than texture.
Which to choose
Morpheus8 is the better choice if you also want to improve texture, acne scars or crepey skin. Ultherapy is the better choice if your main goal is lifting without treating texture. Many people benefit from one or the other, not both. We assess your skin at consult and recommend based on the degree of laxity.
What to expect with results
Collagen takes time. You will see early improvement at 4 weeks, with full results at about 3 months after the last session. Neither treatment replaces surgery for significant laxity, but both can delay or avoid it for the right person.
Combining treatments
We combine these devices with neurotoxins and skincare for a coordinated plan. Neurotoxins relax the muscles that pull on the skin, and skincare supports collagen. The plan is built so each part works with the others.
